Yeah, it's that aluminized steel, which is just mild steel w/ the aluminized coating on the surface to slow down the rusting process.

From my experience, I've also noticed that fitment isn't the greatest either. They definitely do not have the "fit like OEM" feel to the parts, meaning they may require slight tweaking to make work.

Just get the samco hoses. The stock piping is not that bad. Lower IC pipe makes the most diffrance and that's only a few ponies. The Samcos will not balloon as much and will not slip of the piping. Great units.

How do the samco hoses do with heat soak. I remember my factory hoses would heat soak and stay hot forever. Now with injen IC piping. at the dragstrip I can make a pass then pull back in the lanes and pop my hood and if I have 10-20mins(depending on outside temp) between passes. it would be back down to almost outside temp...

Chad,

Never thought of that. I would assume it would be the same as stock if not better because there is no covering like the stock units. I have not had a IC heat soak problem but I also live in the NE.

My guess is that the samco hoses will dissipate heat faster compared to the stock rubber hoses since they are much thinner. Rubber is an insulator and will dissipate heat at a much slower rate compared to aluminum. The samco hoses should fall somewhere in between the two.
