Denso IW22 or NGK BPR7EIX Iridium IX Spark Plugs?????
I had 26k miles on my plugs before they went to hell in a hand basket. A local Pep Boys guy who drives a DSM told me to switch off to non iridium spark plugs. I didn't really want to, I like trick iridium stuff...plus sparkplugs.com has phenominal prices (32 shipped for the OEM). Just for ****s and giggles, I tried a set of Autolites...what garbage...the god dang car didn't rev over 4k, mis, spit crapped.....so...there my experience

I'm pretty unbiased about this whole matter. It's really whatever works for you car. No two EVOs are exactly the same. So what works for someone else might not work for you. And whatever fits your budget.
there is a spark plug from nology called the nology silverstone spark plugs...it saids silver is the best conductor of electricity so therefore its the best spark plug to use?? someone fill me in...

They probably get them shipped in from another country. When NGK says its OE only they are talking about only in the US.

I switched from the OEM NGk to the Densos. Car ran well and it did reduce knock readings, but I think they were gapped slightly too wide (came ~.028), which caused them to foul and car had a lot of misfire.
I put the stock plugs back in, and the car ran well again for awhile. After a few thousand miles (probably 20K total on the OEm plugs and about 5K on the Densos), the OEM NGKs started misfiring, so I decided to try NGK coppers.
I ordered BPR6es (one hotter than stockk heat range) and BPR7es (stock heat range). I had meant to get stock heat range and one range colder. Anyway, I tried lowering the gap to .025/.026. It's much easier to gap the coppers compared to the iridiums. I've broken a couple iridium plugs trying to gap them in the past when I was installing them in my wife's old WRX.
Anyway, the coppers run excellent, and misfire/hesititation issues I had been having with cold weather have been eliminated. I will just replace them more frequently. I switched to the stock heat range, and have a couple of sets of BPR8es to put install in the spring.

ran stocks until 17K - no problems
put in Denso IW24 - timing was a little better (with these plugs i started to get some misfiring (popping) under hard accerleration after 16K miles)
I replaced them with the cheapo NGK Cu BR7ES....timing log was fantastic...got all 4 plugs for like 10$

the plug you should use depends largely on your state of mods and tune.....the Evo si really sensitive to plug gap and heat range...other cars are not nearly as finicky

If don't have too many mods, the stock one works great; but if you are fairly modded (running little leaner or higher boost), the Denso IW24, one step colder plug, seems to work very well.

hrm... I've been running Denso IW-22 for almost 3 full months now. My car idles so smooth compared to the stock plugs that had 15k on them. Overall my car just feels alot more peppy with them and I for one wont be changing brands for awhile
