Thanks for taking the time to do these dyno runs - great idea! What looks strange to me though is that from the data it looks like if you add a catback exhaust to the car that already has an intake you are only gaining a marginal ~2whp? The 'Intake only' sheet shows peak whp of 244.5, while the 'Intake + Exhaust' graph shows peak whp of 246.8.

Nice to see some dyno's. The graphs do look pretty rough, but I think most people want to get some type of tuning for their mods anyways, so I think that would help that out. I know once I get my cams and flash, I'll definitely get the car on a dyno for a custom tune.

To keep the base line no other parts like fuel computers or boost controllers were used. They let the single part do the talking.

The graphs are very ruff and need some tuning with some type of Fuel computer and a boost controller. i will have a Dyno graph for everyone in about two weeks with all the injen Products with an Safc and a Boost controller on my MR. I am Hoping for 300rwhp with just these mods and we will move forward from there.

It seems well known that changing the A/F on even a stock EVO will yield a power improvement. It is also well known that some parts, especially aftermarket intakes can affect the MAS signal, which usually inadvertently changes the A/F.

This is why I wish to caution everyone that without A/F logging, there is no way of knowing if the part is making an improvement (it it does at all) because of its design, or because it creates a situation that alters the MAS signal. Therefore, if one wants to truly test these parts, one would need to do a before/after with a *tuned* car. Otherwise, the results can be misleading, and we have seen dyno reports with tuned EVOs that demonstrate some of these parts to not improve or even reduce power.

This being the case, a part may appear to improve power, but upon tuning, it may be revealed that it does nothing at all...or even costs power. Of course, if one plans on doing nothing with regard tuning the ECU, then the provided graphs are indeed applicable as they are.

I've got a question for you, what about Downpipe+Cat-Delete+Exhaust, or even DP+Exhaust...?

I believe it. My friend and I had the exact same mods. Full TB and boost controller. I put on my Injen Intake and we ran. I put 2 cars on him. That intake really woke up the car. And that was with no tuning. I never had any problem with my car after putting on the intake. Now my car is tuned and runs even better. My friend has a HKS and wants to get rid of it because he's so impressed with the Injen setup. Car is really really strong up top compared to other EVO's. Injen intake is a great looking, nicely built and easy to install. Very impressed with it and would recommend it to whoever is in the market for a intake.

I just barely installed the full turbo-back system w/ the cat-delete, dunno what the gains were, but it pulls like crazy and a great deal of turbo lag has been eliminated...boost is up to around 20psi with taper to 19.3ish...it's nice and quiet too, louder than stock, but quiet enough that the ride is still comfortable inside and you can still carry on a conversation at WOT....asside from being shorted one gasket and a few bolts in the boxes, it was a real easy install too, for the guy that did it...I just held stuff up for him, but still

i have the injen intake kit in black... and it did make an improvement as far as throttle response and power... this was compared to with my friend who has an evo as well... so it's not only me that noticed the differences... lol.... and it looks spectacular... plus you get the nice turbo hiss and even the stock bov sounds damned cool now... lol... hat's off...

always used injen intakes, prolly always will... great quality, performance, and fit... never tried their exhausts, nor heard one though... after all the intakes i sold friends on for their kits, wish they'd throw me a TBE to show off and see if i can do the trend again...
