IE Evo,

Whats your problem? Are you telling me that if you LOST 100 MILES per TANK that you wouldnt think something is wrong mechanically with your car (given the fact that your driving habits havent changed)? If you have nothing positive to contribute, stay out of the thread, jack...! And I can give a rat's *** about what you think about how evo's are to be driven. I will sell the evo and buy a geo as soon as you make some friends who will listen to your dumb opinions!

Bobby

All I got to say is welcome to my world. All I ever get is 220-250 per tank. So 230 sounds fine to me

I cant speak fo rthe other tuners - BUT for myself I tune the closed loop at 14.6 - STOCK settings

SO - IF a user drives on 100% closed loop - all low TPS and no boost - they will get fairly decent gas mileage

Of course FULL TPS is a different story !

Driving to Chicago in my evo I logged over 30 mpg with my aem by running super lean on cruise

About 2 weeks ago, I decided to change my plugs. I got the NKG's BP7es i believe (bought them from pruven Performance). After installing them, I accidently crossed the wires and the car was misfiring badly. I couldn't figure out what was wrong until, 30 min. later. In the mean time, I may have had the car idling for 3-5 min tops (after pulled the plugs 4 times and regapped I would try to run it, thought maybe some crap got into the plug holes). I finally figured it out after a call to pruven. the car ran great after I reinstalled the wires correctly. But now my gas mileage SUX! I must have lost ATLEAST 50-75 miles per tank! Can anyone help me out here? What's going on?

BTW, here are my mods: Buschur MBC, Dyno Flash, Buschur Turboback, highflow cat.

Thanks!
My guess - your foot is the culprit at least partially. I got the P2 flash last year and it was supposed to help out my gas mileage. However, because of the 40+hp I gained I drive it a hell of a lot harder!!

Sorry don't gauge gas mileage nor do I care to. I do drive the $hit out of my car on occasion to say the least. I have no way of empiracally quantifying gas miliage with my inconsistent driving styles. My bad and I will respect your wishes. BTW Al you know who my tuner is and I really am not in the mood to get ejected for starting a war with you. Good lil covert dig IMO by you.

Stay off of the boost and get better mileage or try the 8es plug when running higher boost. Feel sorry for the tuners in this world as customers want their cars to be rocketships but keep all the positive stock characteristics. OUT!
Actually, thats how a lot of the tuners advertise... they say better performance with their flashes, and as a bonus, better mileage.
