Does anyone know how much a Shep Tranny build is for the Evo ???
I am wondering if anyone has had there tranny built by Shep Racing for the evo. If any of you on here have i would like to know how much it is and how well you like it.
I *think* fourdoor had his rebuilt last year. I'm not sure on that.
I'm interested as well. I've got a spare gearbox that I want to send out and have refurbed. I want to have a fresh tranny, clutch and Quaife LSD installed this winter in prep for track season.

Yea i called him personally and had a 30 min conversation. He doesnt seem to think our tranny will handle the 9500rpm redline im looking for along with the power. So we talked about getting it built along with the TC. He said if i pull it out and send it to him he will fully build it and send it back for $700. CANT GET BETTER THEN THAT!! As far as the TC there is nothing he can do at this time but he said in the near future he will have it under control!!

I have spares of nearly everything at this point.. I plan on doing that so I can possibly run the car for a season with minimal downtime. Then I can swap parts as needed.. Honestly though, my car is a street car, I much prefer to drive it and want reliable power and hardware.
Malibu, have you ever thought of doing any of the things used to make stronger parts? Bead blasting, cryo treating... That should make things more reliable. Maybe its not cost effective though?

Absolutely.. Everything I do gets cryo treated, and coated, its actually not very expensive if you live near places that do that stuff (Long Island has a huge aerospace industry so alot of that stuff is local except for Ceramic coating my exhaust components, that stuff has to go off somewhere)
I'd prefer to do alot of the work myself, but bearing and shim part #'s are hard to find.. Everything else is stuff that can be machined if necessary, but I'd much rather not spend a fortune for custom parts like that. I'm waiting to see what becomes available so I'm sitting on some of the drivetrain parts I'm amassing.
