I would like to know how often and what you did to get such short clutch life? Hopefully I can learn something and not have mine go so fast.

not a flame but man that's not even over with the break-in period. If you like to drag get a skyline or supra.

well to start , i am stuck in traffic everyday. lots a basic shifting, but i think taking it to the track every weekend - and learning how to launch, hard/slip has crippled my clutch. i just hope my flywheel is still good....

ok break in period is 1000-1500 miles and your clutch is gone in 2000... This means that Assuming you did what you were suposed to during break in that you wore a clutch out in less than 1000 miles....

I have 20,000 miles on my stock clutch and its still holding up my commute to work is over an hour in stop and go so I have to shift constantly.

This tells me that either you got a bogus clutch in your car or you don't know how to shift well

Yes taking your car to the track is very hard on a clutch but once a week wouldn't completely kill a clutch in less than 1000 miles unless you were doing something drastically wrong

Heh, I killed mine in 2,000 miles as well, but since I don't drive much, that was a good 3 months of ownership, going to the dragstrip every sunday, and running at least 10 times each. I'd figure that would be about 90-100 launches at the dragstrip, plus playing around on the street. I put in an exedy twindisk and haven't changed anything, and have about 2,500 miles on it with the same abuse and it still grabs strong, even with launch control.

Why do that, when after just 5 or 6 mods he can already hit 11s with no Nos, not many cars can claim that now can they. So not a flame, but why don't you STF Up!

People if you plan to mod or race your EVO replacing the clutch should be one of your first mods, so that it doesn't become an issue later.

where does it sayt 1k to1.5k break in period? or is that something that you go by? anyways i killed my clutch with over 1k of hard use. this is the first time i have driven a manual car at the track. and yes i have had some bad starts / learning experiances.
congrats on driving your car - well winthin its limits and having your clutch last for 20k miles

btw - i still dont like jl audio equipment - just in case you forgot
