Here's a quick little tale. A word to the wise might be a better term......
A lot of you probably know my story with the nighmare that George from the late un-lamented Busted Solutions shop. To sumarize in a few words:

February 2004,
George sold me in a $6K+ path to upgrades and he or his flunkies totally screwed my car and then George washed his hands off of it, blamed me for all the problems and left me with a huge problem.

Months pass with a basically undriveable car, things continue to go wrong, Georges "tuning" causes damage to engine. Andrew & Barry at Dyno4ance help me out with some of the problems, but the main issues remain


October, 2004

Shiv returns to Georgia for a tuning weekend at Dyno4mance. Seth offers to help me puit my car back to stock so Shiv can tune it with the XEDE to try to solve the major issues of driveability of my car.
Seth and Dustin spent countless hours undoing Georges' horrible hack job in my car. The removal of the AEM EMS was anything but simple or straightforward. These guys did all this for me at no charge whatsoever. They owed me nothing and helped me out just out of the goodness of their heart and their desire to help me get the car sorted out. Thanks a million guys

Anyway, they got the car about 90%+ done and Shiv was able to do some initial tuning and a reflash of the ECU. Unfortunately everyone had to go home and back to their lives and tere was no time to complete my car .......

Now, my car is basically left at Dyno4mance and Andrew kindly offered to wrap-up the job and finish the car. It must be said that this is the worst situation a tuner can face. Taking a car that has been butchered by another shop, worked on by different people and still with issues is about as bad a situation as anybody wants to walk into.

Andrew and his father Barry went to work on my car and after countless hours of work troubleshooting and repairing botched up work of others as well as effecting needed modifications to make everything work, they finally got my car into a suitable state of driveability and tune. Dyno4mance is a terrifically equipped shop. They have the best dyno in the industry as well as a clean, spacious and well equipped shop. Andrew and Barry are both very careful and deliberate guys. They do not jump into things without carefully researching the matter, reading about it and studying carefully all the books available. Where some "tuners" out there are the clients worst nightmare, cocky, overconfident, inept and irresponsible, Dyno4mance is exactly the opposite. If you get a snake bite, get the antivenin right away!! If you get bitten by a "tuning" snake, get to Dyno4mance straight away!!

This whole event has cost me thousands of dollars. Most of that was wasted with George of Busted Solutions' crap and crap work and the remainder in correcting the perpetrations of Busted Solutuions. The lessons I've learned are many, but for the good of other EVO owners and in all fairness. I must give credit where credit is due. Although there are some good tuners and fine people out there, the one's I've had great experience with are Dyno4mance. Andrew and Barry did a great job with my car. Not only that, but they gave me a huge break in price. If I had to pay standard shop rates for the work they did I'd be in serious credit card debt. I don't expect that Andrew can or would do such thing again (after all, he needs to stay in business) but I'm extremely gratefull for his help and kindness. I can recommend Dyno4mance without reservations for anything they'll agree to do. The EVO owner out there (or any other car) would not find a finer equipped facility or more stand up guys than at Dyno4mance. At least not within many miles of Atlanta. Actually if you live anywhere in Georgia, Alabama, North and South Carolina or Tennessee, you're doing yourself a disservice by not visiting and patronizing Dyno4mance.

Also, I want to thank Seth and Dustin and Shiv for working with me in this messy situation. I don't blame the individual products that Busted Solutions sold me and installed. All those are good products and can do a good job if used by the right person for the right project. For me, the XEDE & Xflash plus Shivs' and Andrews tuning really brought my car back from the Busted Solutions hell. Oh yeah, I want to apologize to those I argued about the "stock like" qualities of the Exedy twin disk clucth. It really is much easier to use if the car is running right

Unfortunately, the bad tuning caused some loss of ring seal. However, it's not severe enought to require action. The car is making decent power and the driveability is quite good.

Good news. Great experiences. These are the premiere tuners on this site. They put their heart where their mouth is.

Thats a risky move. Most people who tune free of charge are inexperienced and just want to learn (make mistakes) on someone else's car. I've seen it countless times. But hey it sounds like these guys are good people.

 

In this case, the risk was all on them. Seth and Dustin are both very experienced with the EVO and the XEDE, but basically what they did was put my car back to stock as much as possible. Shiv tuned the XEDE himself (I think he qualifies as a tuner ) There is nothing but appreciation from my part for Seth and Dustin's labor.

Andrew and Barry are professionals and they do not attempt anything they consider risky. Andrew also gave me a tremendous discount on his labor and dyno time. There are many reasons why Dyno4mance gave me such a break, but they were not under any obligation to do it. I really thank them and I cannot say enough good things about them.

First of all, they helped me when they could have washed their hands off my car with perfect justification. Secondly, Andrew gave me hundreds of dollars of discount on labor and dyno time. Finally, Andrew and Barry were very successful in troubleshooting and correcting some vexing problems that George created when he modded my car. If I can do anything to help Dyno4mance I will do it. I can definitely recommend them for anything they agree to do. Oh yeah, they have the best dyno around bar none. You'd have to drive probably 500 miles or more from there to find equivalent facilities.
