P0300 bottom line

Hello guys. I know this code has been going around for ages. I have done a search so all of you who don't have answer but "do a search" don't even reply. I have read so much on what could trigger this code from other threads. Some say it's something with the knock sensor. Some say it's something in the tranny that is causing harmonics so people had their tranny fix under warranty. Now there is a new Mitsu. flash that will get rid of this erractic code. Their so called tech were even the ones that said it was something in the tranny. Now it's just the software? So the bottom line is, what the heck is/was the real cause to the P0300 code. Will that new flash just some how disable or make it less sensitive to misfire? Also I am wondering if the MR will have this problem?

I've had 2 of these in the past month - I'm interested in the response too.

Since it just came out, I wonder if the MRs will get this code.

A local Mitsu tech told me the root problem is with the transmission. The flash is suppose to deaden the knock sensor a little so it won't misfire. Some tranmissions have alot more vibration then others and the flash won't fix the issue. Then the tranny comes out.

Al from Dynoflash has been working on this dilligently for the last week or so. Here is the link..

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=105826

There is some good info in there, and I'm sure Al won't mind if you call with some questions for him. He's trying real hard to sort this all out for us; so if you have some input/insight I'm sure he'd love to hear that too.

Good luck!!
