Need help with tuning BOV!!!

I just got a greddy type s installed on my evo at the Mitsubishi dealership....My problem is that my car has ideling problems right now and the BOV is always fluttering. Im going to take it back on monday to get it adjusted....but what is the problem? Does the nut need to be tightend up more to get the "sharp chirp sound", and for it to stop bogging? Please help guys!

There are TONS of threads re: tuning bovs. Your best bet is to search the forum. Basically what it boils down to is are your VTA or Recirculating? Is the installation of your bov correct? (not upside down) Adjusting the "tension" on the adjuster or spending more cash to purchase upgraded springs and shims.......goodluck!!!

sounds like it needs to be tightened to me. i would tighten it in increments until you find the right position where it doesnt leak at idle and where it isnt so stiff that it doesnt open properly and cause compressor surge.

if u hear fluttering then its too TIGHT, loosen it in increment till u hear no more or very little fluttering from the turbo.

does it sound like a rattlesnake? then that is compressor surge and yeah it is too tight. most people have idle problems because it is set to soft. that is why i recommended you tighten it up.

u need to do the single spring mod if u are stock. Greddy Type S comes install with 2 springs, u need to remove one to solve the ideling problem.

yeah it kinda sounds like a rattlesnake but my car doesnt shake or n/e thing....so tightening it up more wouldnt get rid of the fluttering but it will help the stalling problem?
