if you go to Gruppe-S' website and section on evo 8, they have the stage packages just like any other companies...but they have like a full exahaust deal going for like 895 dollars....downpipe , cat delete, and catback...do you think its a good deal? and the exhaust is helix...your thoughts? any other better deals?

 

You can get a full turboback from a lot of vendors for about $950. RNR, RMR, UR, Buscher, etc

 

actually I think there is a special going on with gruppe s now and it's downpipe, test pipe, cat back for 800 shipped......I have the downpipe and test pipe with mechanical cel fix and everything bolted up perfectly and the craftsmanship is awesome plus no cel light......If I was looking for a turboback I'd get on this quick....good luck in your finding though......p.s. Gruppe-S does have awesome customer service and you won't be able to beat their prices on just about everything they have in stock.....I've bought many o' parts from them and get top quality service and they ship fast....

 

what kind of gains did you get with your full exhaust setup alone w/o ecu flash or dyno tuning?

i have just put on the HELIX dp, stock cat, and exhaust. MAJOR improvement over stock. other mods inlcude KN filter and greddy bov. nothing else. no flash or tune. pulls great till redline. im impressed with the quality of the HELIX products. the exhaust is not as loud as i thought it was gonna be. im sure with a tune-i.e. flash or Safc- i will see more improvement.

 

do you like your greddy bov, is it loud? does it have the psssssssh sound

the greddy bov is pretty loud. it has that signature whistle when it vents. i just bought the 2g adapter and recirculated it. it seems to flutter just a little under light throttle, but under full boost it is fine. i also have the KN typhoon air filter kit. it is the open element filter with a replacement turbo inlet tube. even with stock bov it was loud. gives the loud whoosh you desire. the greddy has a slight whistle when you let off the throttle. i left both springs in the bov. when i took out the little spring, i still had the same amount of flutter from the bov so i left them in there and adjusted the bov to full soft and gave it a two and a half turn in. im happy with it. i had it on my 98 2g GST.
