I can't do it, the NI has a straight tip welded to the muffler already.

You can see it very clearly from behind the car, and I'm debating spraying it with flat black hi-temp paint...

The sound is not "ricey" at all. It sounds very deep, and somewhat mellow when off of boost, but when on boost it still gets loud. I was fortunate enough to see a video on the web that showed an Evo with this setup, so I knew what I was getting, except the muffler looks slightly different, so the video may have been mis-labelled, but the sound is identical.

I am still waiting for my Buschur air cleaner because they are on back order, but Jarrod said he was hoping that they'd be sending them out at the end of next week. I can't wait because I want to see if this adds anything else to my new found top end pull that the Buschur TBE has provided me.
I bought the same thing a couple of weeks ago for my MR, except with a cat delete pipe, for this price. Nice power gains just bolted on, and I found a 16-lb drop in weight by my scale. Can't wait to do some tuning for it. I'm waiting for my backordered filter kit also.

This is the first car with a full 3" exhaust that I've owned where I can still hold a conversation inside the car. Very mild in off-throttle cruising, and still not very loud in normal acceleration; but when you open it up, it's got a nice deep growl.

A bit tougher to install than other exhausts I've had, but it was well worth it, both for the price and for the gains. I did have to buy a gasket for the connection between the test pipe and downpipe--even though the instructions say it's not necessary I just couldn't close off the leak . I cut down a 3" 4-bolt gasket with an Xacto knife. Overall, I'm very pleased. Good work, Dave!

ok, that's cool, thanks for the info. What mufflers can you do it with? Any HKS, if not which? I will probably go with your exhaust system b/c a lot of people claim great power gains but I need an attractive muffler.

A lot of times you can hear it. It sounds like a "chuff" sound at the joint instead of at the exhaust tip. If it's far enough back from the turbo, the exhaust gas is not too hot and you can feel it with your hand. That's how I found mine.

Honestly I probably could've fixed my leak without the gasket--I moved the connection around and it did make it better. I just went with a "brute force" fix to be done with it. Gasket was $3.00 at O'Reilly.

Why doesn't Buschur sell the exhaust with the gasket then? I know I would just for a precaution. Maybe david can step in on this one.

I cannot locate a gasket to match the flanges that we have CNC'd. The problem is we use a full 3" system, no silly power robbing reducers. This system is full 3". In order to make the flanges full 3" all the way through and still be able to bolt up to the stock cat it makes for an unusual bolt pattern/center opening. Apparently it is something nobody else has ever built. We have attempted to have gaskets made and haven't found a good one yet.

The two flanges are flat enough that they seal up pretty darn good and it isn't an issue.

try using red high temp RTV, if it works at the manifold flange it will work there.

The red or copper should work. Of the 100 of those I have sold with this new design and the 20 we have probably installed I haven't seen one leak bad enough to be an issue...might want to just not worry about it.

This was done on straight 94 octane with no race gas in the mix and no alcohol injection. That's actually an increase of 78 whp and 61 ft lbs of torque. This kit normally sells for $1310, with the exhaust sale we are running it is only $1210 and that includes the shipping to you and the overnight shipping on your ECU back to you. Can't really beat that deal, if it's in the budget. You will also have to mention you saw the mention of this on EvolutionM.
