Dyno sheet on MR with flash - BIG improvements

First of all - remember all '05 Evos have the same exact set up as far as the engine goes

Here is a MR that we tuned today and I tell you the power is really strong

The new turbo is a huge improvement and it makes a big difference

The stock power was 245 - about 5 more than average

BUT - just installing a MBC and my flash - really woke things up

This is with Dyno Flash, walbro 255 fuel pump and the Hallman MBC

Huge trq and a car that really pulls hard on the top end compared to a '03 or '04 with the stock cat and exhuast

A really great machine - I loved driving the MR - everthing is an improvement an evolution if you will ! rocks

I knew the MR would be amazing and thats why I have been working so hard investing tons of time and energy into getting the MR and '05 reflash ready to go - it was a lot of work but it sure paid off and it is great to proudly say that I am the first to offer the flash on the 2005 Evos.

It was such a joy to drive that machine - I can honestly say that it was one of the highlights of my tuning career. Its a great all around well balanced and exceedingly fast machine. I am looking forward to working on some more heavily modified MR and '05 evos in the comming months ahead, there is a lot of potential in those cars.

Nice, it made 300 lbs of torque ! Good job Al.
Did you know it has an ( Anti-lag ) at 5k RPM. .5 - .6 bar while the car is not mooving. Try it.

Good job, Al.

That's insane power with really no mods.

So much for the value of my '03

I am actually working on the code for that - I am trying to find the address so I can adjust that up a bit higher for those who want a drag launch ! I want to bring to to about 5500 or so. First I have to find it which is the tricky part. When I do find it I think I will be able to also remove it for those who dont like that feature.

That's not anti-lag it's anti warranty claim. Stock cars will bog like crazy launching off that 5k rev limiter and thus not break as much. It's mitsu putting the stop on dragstrip fun, not trying to help you go faster.

one of my buddies just ran his 05 evo8 at Island last weekend with horrid 60' times. dump launch won't work at only 5k (2.0). slipping the clutch glazed it in 2 poor 1.8 attempts.

I concur - that is why I am working very hard to find a way to raise it or take it out altogether.

Does the timing change at all form the "normal" map when on this limiter or immidieatly after? my buddies car seemed to have no power when it hit this limiter, as in it might have launced better leavin at 4800 off the limiter, than 5000 on it.

Taking it out was as simple as pullin the plug on the 3rd clutch switch. Then the owner of the car just hurt the stock clutch from normal launces. heheh

BTW...what gain do you think the updated turbo in the 05's is worth over the 03-04 models judging from whatyou have seen on this car compared to same mods on a prev year?

Ah - good idea ! Sometimes the simpelist solutions work the best ! I'll be sure and give you proper credit for that every time I do that !

As for the turbos - this new turbo seems to make LOADS more trq on the spool up - it hits hard (at least 15 more ft lbs than a similar '03 or '04 set up . . . . and it holds the boost harder up top

Even with just these two simple mods the car was deceptively fast and very smooth and linear

The down side to all of this extra power is that a LOT of my previous base maps for the '03 and '04 will have to be reworked to accomidate the new MR and '05 cars due to the inreased air flow

There is some other relevant data on the '05 as it has incorporated the new OBDII updates mandated for 05 and has some new OBDII logging features activated
