ss manifold vs cast iron

What are the pros and cons for each manifold. Is it that stainless steel weighs less, has better performance but will crack on you and cast iron would be vice versa? I guess it would probably depend on how you take care of your car with it cooling down or abusing it.

Some say it will crack, but RNR has a lifetime warranty on theirs. I guess it is how it is made.

An ss tubular:

- Is lighter in weight

- Typically gives better midrange performance (cleaner passages and equal length being advantages)

- Radiates more heat, which is not especially desirable. Retaining heat is better for both performance and the longevity of underhood parts.

- Should be expected to have a shorter lifespan.

Which one would you use? It seems like with a ss its much cheaper and if it does crack you can just get another one because of its cheap price? Maybe it would be safer to get cast iron and pay more and dont have to worry about anything cracking.

I dun't know of anyone who makes cast iron manifolds, only people who port them. I heard SS glows hot red when pushed hard.
