3.- Detonated at 6k - as of lastnight it looks like detonation on the #1 cly - were still doing the autosy, but it looks like a lean conditon on #1 that could have been caused by a improper install or tuning of an E-manange system.
SAME HERE. I'VE DONE A REBUILD ON ONE DUE TO THE OIL PUMP GOING OUT. WASN'T UNDER WARRANTY DUE TO MODS. ANOTHER FRIEND OF MINE, HIS OIL PUMP WENT OUT BUT WAS UNDER WARRANTY. BOTH WERE IN THE 21K MILES RANGE. I WAS WORRIED FOR A WHILE WHEN I WAS COMING UP ON 21K.

When they set the t-belt. Did they match the lines on the cam gears to the line on the valve cover? Or did they line up the cam gear lines to each other?

If that isn't illegal it should be! I'm pretty sure that's got to be some type of fraud.

And possibly a felony at that, given the amount of money hanging in the balance. In any case, I doubt one could just bring in something like that and expect Mitsu not to perform a *thorough* inspection. They shouldn't be expected to just roll over and ante up for something like this, and no doubt they would follow their suspicions.

I thought you were concerned about the impact on your pocket? Sounds to me like your pocket is pretty damn deep from all those mods you are getting ready to do. Glad everything is going to get back in running order. It sucks when your car goes down.

Same thing happened to my car pretty much while getting 272s installed

guy at the shop over torqued the oil feed line to the turbo, all the oil leaked out on the highway.. motor said LAYDAH.

better make that guy at the shop pay for it.

just a guess...but are you sure a rocker did not get hit during the cam install and drop down the rear oil gallery into the sump.....they fit down there you know and also come off very easily during cam installation...I would check all your rockers are still present at the top of the engine
