I'm not saying that the pressure test messed up the turbo, I just think that the seals were already shot and the pressure test blew some oil and coolant through which is what produced all of the white smoke. I think the pressure test just made the problem visible. Btw the guys at FIS are awesome, Steve didn't charge me anything for the test.

I wouldn't be too concerned unless your getting white smoke all the time now...

Thanks for clearing it up. There seems to be nothing wrong with performance. Al drove it a couple of hours after the "white smoke" incident. Surely he would have noticed something. As far as I know, that was the only time it occurred. I do get minor smoke from the tail pipe but it's from cold start during cold weather.

Yeah it did suck, but ask Zeus, this is spot on with how my luck goes. Something gets fubar'ed and I end up coming out on top in the long run. Guess you can't have good luck with out the bad Oh and just to clarify this did not happen on the dyno, the funny part is that the instant the car was started to be moved to the dyno the smoke started pouring out, car didn't move until I got back in it to limp back home to New Braunfels.

I found that port kit in San Antonio, picking it up today, George is looking for the best price on the gaskets, I may just go to Selma today for them, waiting for the tracking number on the snail as we speak.

Uber bring back from the dead. This is still, aside from tme's my favorite stock turbo to drive on. Just rolled 101k so I decided to send her in to get freshened up an have a few things "tweaked" to my spec. This thing was a spool monster before, it's just going to be silly now

Just gasket matching the hotside opening and having a bit o' Ti stuffed in her Kind of thought about going the ix or maybe even fpgreen route but none of the characteristics of those turbos quite satisfy me the way this one has. Just don't know what to expect with the Ti internals as the car already had a huge amount of usable power down low before with the cast internals.
