Just trying to figure out which trany can handle more launchs and which is the best for a good track car.Im actually thinking about buying a second car for track runs and wondering if im better off using my evo or picking up an older gsx.

Aah, ok. The Evo tranny is definitely a beefier tranny. However, once you hit 120mph or so you have to start thinking about shifting into 5th or getting taller tires to stay in 4th.

The Evo front diff has some issues, but companies are working through them.

So the gearing on the older gsx is much better for higher traps.

I know shifting my GSX takes TLC. So, I wouldn't track a 1g without a proper tranny rebuild by Shepherd Racing or Team Rip Engineering.

If you have an EVO, there's no point in getting a GSX to mod. The EVO is everything you'll ever want your GSX to be and much much more. You're going to have to invest so much money into the GSX to bring it up to the EVO level in terms of handling and braking.

Now by track, do you mean road racing or drag racing? If you're looking to build a drag car, the EVO is still the better choice since almost everything is stronger.

^ What he said. ^

Of course, the 1gA is better looking and has pop-up headlights.
