Drivetrain Question..

Hi Guys!

I´m from Sweden so sorry for my bad spelling

I have a Evo IX 500whp and a Shep trans, and now my question.

Can i sidstep my clutch?
whats the weak part of my trany?
What do you rekomend that i change on my trany?

Honestly if you have a weak clutch the only thing that could happen is you burn that up instead of breaking your drivetrain. Probably the weakest part of your car right now are going to be the axles and transfer case.

So to actually answer the question unless your clutch has a problem like its slipping why replace it just keep it for now and put some money aside for when it does eventually give up.

Do not sidestep your clutch. You have to SLIP!!! the clutch when launching. Sidestepping the clutch means you literally ask to break something. Transfer case will probably be the first thing you break if you do that.

P.S. There's a lot written about this if you scroll down to the drag racing forum. Really a lot of quality info if you wish to beat on your car and try not to break things at the same time.
