need help troubleshooting transmission problem

ok, so after a day at the track, i started having tranny problems.

to put things in context, i have a B&M shortshifter, an ACT clutch and Fidanza flywheel. The car has never been dragged. never. Its been to the track 3 times.

Anyhow, i had problems getting the car into 4th from 3rd gear without grinding. THe problem got worse and worse and i had to double clutch after a while just to get it into 4th.

Now the problem with grinding happens when i try to get it into 3rd, and 2nd also.

when i start up the car after its been in relatively cold whether for a little bit, it is REALLY hard to get the shifter into reverse gear.

Also, on normal roads, when i try to heel toe into a lower gear, it lets me just fine, but something is moving in the clutch pedal when i do so.

today, i will be taking about my short shifter, hoping that that will fix it, but i have a feeling it wont.

I just had my tranny fluids replaced (with dealer fluids) two weeks / two track events ago.

Any and all opinions / suggestions are welcome

Try adjusting the rod behind the pedal. With a new clutch it needs to be re-adjusted after some use.

Is this problem due to the ACT unit? Why would the rod need adjustment after some use?

i had this problem and not only were the 3 and 4 syncros shot but it somehow broke a tooth on my 3rd gear. Be careful when you start to hear grinding between gears. I also have the stock clutch.

when you get an aftermarket clutch do you need to replace your sincros also?

I'm getting a similar problem - very hard to get into reverse when it's cold. And from 3rd to 4th or from 5th to 4th, it seems to be grinding when going into gear. I called the dealership and they told me to bring it in because they need to rebuild the tranny. Apparently there is a known issue with the gears. Not sure if they're going to do a full recall, but something is definitely up.

sometimes when replaceing the clutch you need to adjust the mastercylinder pushrod under the dash. Beacuse the thickness of every clutch is different and pressureplates are different sometime the pedal travel changes. Is the clutch grabs real close to the floor you need to adjust the rod to raise the pedal so you get complete disengagement
