my mr engine brakes a lot less than my evo. i think it's to rev-match for the 6 sp transmission. i think it's not a problem for me but i know of a guy that bought a mr and gave it back minus $4k just to get his '03 back. ouch!!!!!!

My GS-R does the same thing. It is not a MR Edition feature.

I get the same thing on my MR...almost feels like its "self-accelerating"

And I've wished for my 03 back a few times...I'm having trouble getting used to the MR

^what don't you like? the lack of engine braking, lack of go-cart feel of the '03 or the understeer from the acd?

Same thing has been happening on my MR. First couple of times I thought I might have left my foot on the accelerator a little bit while clutching. Now I know it's not just me. Any problems with this? For me, it tend to happen between 4500 and 6000... kind of holds for a alf sec then slowly drops about 500 rpm or so and then drops to idle normally. Is this the same for everyone else?

All of the above....and I don't like that I'm getting the same thing as descibed above on my bone stock 05 MR...never had it on my 03 GSR with 8K miles on it...it's not only frustrating because I sound like a tool when I'm shifting, but I don't like the feeling of "self-acceleration" when I throw it into 3rd, let off the throttle, and the car keeps going like like I'm still on the gas

AND...my fockin brakes on the MR squeal like a pig NEVER a peep out of my 03...

I think it's ecu related. I never had a problem with my 03 and it seems like all MR's have this problem?

This is the case with my 05 GSR.

Same here. It sounds like an 2005 thing that is not exclusive to the "MR Edition."

Same here. I just wash the wheels more often to avoid it.

I recall rumor has it that the 05 RS does not have launch control. Can someone with an 05 RS check if they have this problem?

It sounds like it would suck during drag racing. It looks like you need to shift to the next gear faster then normal.
