It is possible but the intake can alter a/f readings. A flash with an hks rs has shown 11hp more when combined with a flash

the tbe wont be a problem. The intake will cause erratic readings like what evowhiplash said. COmbined with a flash, the intake will yield more hp. THe exhaust will benefit slightly from the flash. I read in a magazine (forgot which one) the HKS rs intake acually nets -1 hp when untuned.

I had exhaust, intake, mbc and a fuel pump all un-tuned for awhile and the car still ran fine, but after the tune from Turbotrix it runs amazing!!!!

I disagree. I put down 220whp with just HKS RS intake and HKS SSQ BOV. Stock, unmodded EVO's put down 195-205whp on the Mustang dyno I used. (FYI: Mustang dyno's are the lowest reading dyno's out there)

The HKS RS intake does make power, even without tuning. And the sound is just sick.

As for being happy with an untuned intake and exhaust setup, I did run my mods with no flash or piggyback fuel computer. (237whp / 250lb/ft) Reliability was never a factor, a/f ratio was extremely safe, and drivability was second to none.

I say go forth and bolt your parts up and enjoy them. Save your money and get the flash and enjoy them again.

yea put the parts on. I did, the car will run fine. Just don't wait too long for the flash.

Your MAF's gonna read it and your ecu's gonna mix the fuel/air for you.

I'll put it on.

I read that magazine, It was in the Dsport that they gave ouy at the HB mitsu socalevo meet. Dsport tested a bunch of HKS stuff, including the exhaust, EVC, intake, and Fcon. They dynoed it at XS. THe HKS intake didnt make any power before the Fcon tune.

It will run very lean through the middle of the power band and you will pick up knock and timing retard but it will run fine without any tuning

With an appropriate reflash tune the intake will make about 10 whp more than the stock intake
