What would you choose?
Hey everybody, well Christmas is finally over and after gifts I've somehow managed to sustain minor damage to my budget (whew). And by budget i mean money for the evo. I'm presently concerned with modifications that increase power and i have about 1500 dollars to spend so which of these combos would YOU pick if you were me?
**Current Mods**
-MBC
-Buschur turbo back 3in exhaust
-test pipe
-gauges
Combo #1:
-Buschur Delux Intercooler upgrade
-UIC buschur delux piping w/ BOV
-272's
-buschur mini battery kit
(over budget a little)
Combo #2:
-HKS rs intake
-UIC buschur delux piping w/ BOV
-S-AFCII
-Walbro 255
-ARP head studs, main studs, con rod bolts
-720cc injectors
Combo #3
-HKS rs intake
-standard UIC piping w/ BOV
-272's
-HKS cam gears
-walbro 255
I've pretty much narrowed it down to those 3 so please, any help/explainations would help me greatly thanks in advance for your time.

You should actually take some of that money and do some HPDE's.
Get some track time under your belt and I guarantee you that you'll find you need don't anymore power.
I 'might' put some springs and a rear swar bar, but that's about it until I get some track time under my belt.
The car is plenty fast enough.
If all you're concerned with is going fast from stop light to stop light you should have gotten yourself a big ole V8... lol...

Combo #2 but you don't need the injectors.. Tuning the S-AFC will offer more gains than just cams or any other bunch of bolt-ons.. I do see that your trying to make a first step onto other mods in the future..

^^Whoa whoa hold on a second. I asked for what YOU would pick out of these three. I have plenty of track time under my belt and with the autoxing i do (thscc) the stock suspension is all i need for right now. My first run at the road course left me wanting a little more exiting power out of the corners. I got the experience i needed with my beater miata at the autox's, BMW schools, and plenty of trial and error. If I wanted to know your opinion on my personal ability as a driver, i simply would've included it as a choice. Thank you and i appreciate the advice, but please, you don't know my experience or goals, so don't jump to conclusions. Thanks.

^^ i would, BUT i like the buschur black coating option and i don't mind spending a little extra on the mini battery for a little bit of weight loss and reduction of pipe bends, plus...I'm a big fan of buschur.

I stand corrected...
I'm curious though. Can you explain what you mean about wanting more power out of the corners.?
I've never driven a turbo car before, let alone on the track. I track my M3 a lot and the power is very linear. So I usually carry enough speed through the turn and I'm able to punch it out of the corner.
I figure with a turbo car I'd have to keep it high up in the rpm range to stay on 'boost.' I figure the key is having it in the right gear and high enough in the rpm range before turn in.
How much horsepower do you think this car needs out on the track?
oh btw - i'd go with combo #1
Before i would go with things like cams and cam gears arps etc,.. You will be surprised how inefficient the stock FMIC is.. just bolting a larger Bar/plate on and maybe a upper pipe.. makes a very huge difference.. I didnt see it listed in your mods or options.. Thats my advice..

Haha, no worries man. Yeah, the car even when pushed seems to be lacking with top end and even with the power the evo has when driven correctly in the higher RPM range is great however i seem to be having trouble keeping up with rival drivers in higher displacement cars
. I'm not looking for much, my goal is about 350 whp and close to that with ft/lbs. I LOVE e36 m3's BTW. Especially ones with forced induction, i bet that thing is quite the baller!
