Yup, all the Hallmans that I've installed are solid to redline. It surprises me to hear of tapering. I've installed a lot of them too; all work the same.

Where do you hook up the Hallman MBC from, the BOV or directly from the turbo nipple?

I've hooked all mine up between the BOV and intake, using a T connection. I've read all the dabates about one way vs. the other, but it works well for me so I do it that way. My personal opinion is that it works the same both ways (let's stay on topic though). I don't have any issues with spiking or tapering.

I have a whole install write up; if you want me to send you a copy just PM me.

I can buy a Hallman mbc for 80 Dollars.
plug it in set it at 21ps. on a otherwise stock plus k&n typhoon intake 04 RS
And drive away.
or
do i have to get the car tuned for the air/fuel mixture. since it will be running a couple more psi peak and more over all.
The k&n typhoon intake sucks, don't buy that I've already got my Buschur MBC in so when I get my Hallman it will take 2 seconds to install

How does the MBC working as it's designed to sound like it's installed incorrectly? Regardless, I've installed probably 20 of them this way and there hasn't been a single complaint. Not to mention Al has tuned several of the cars I've set up and he's commented very positively on several of them. Oh, and for the record, I've tried the other install method on one evo (he was reading all the evom stuff and wanted to try it the other way) and it performed exactly the same.

Whatever. To each his own. I'd prefer no taper and solid to redline, you chose whatever you want. Unless you meant that the others (the ones tapering) were installed incorrectly. Sorry, your post kinda confused me. No biggie.

Don't get me wrong people, I did not post to bash Hallman. My experience lyes almost 100% with EBCs. So, this is more of a probe of those who used the product to see if I truly am "the only one". Suggestions more than welcome. I'm planning on making myself a "pressure cap" in order to rule out any leaks. However, I really don't think I have any.
you have it hooked up right, just shorten the distance you have it from the source (turbo, wastegate), I have the in-cockpit and the actual unit is mounted to the frame bar that goes straight down the center of the car on the bottom (it has the tow hook mounted on it) and that location is like 3" away from the turbo/wastegate max, so I get absolutely no spiking or tapering, works awsome. However you cant mount it there and adjust it easily without the in-cockpit.

Right now it is mounted at the top of the fan... so about 16-18" from the turbo. The spiking is worse in the cold weather of course.

Hey listen prix i was asking a question and if u dont have any thing nice to say then shut ur piehole.. And if ur wondering Y i bought that instead of the Injen setup. My dealership is **** and i need my warrenty for the what if situations. So I bought that one from a dealership, I know I overpaid. but when my engine siezes from something wierd. I will get it replaced for free. As opposed to ur out of pocket.

K, just install Hallman and I have the same problem!!!!! It jumps right to 20.5 psi and holds solid until about 5300rpm, then tapers to 15-16psi by 6000rpm! SUCK.

Here's my install:

Removed all tubing/T's going from wastegate/turbo/solenoid/intake. Plugged two nipples on solenoid (left electrical plugged in) and plugged the left over nipple on the intake pipe. Ran a line from the turbo nipple to the nipple opposite the control knob and one line from the wastegate to the side nipple (w/the little hole). I think the install is right and, from what I hear, Al send all his MBC's with the stiff spring, so that's what I should have. I do have the stock BOV, but wouldn't this leak at all rpm ranges????? help....
