Hallman MBC installed, very happy

I installed the Hallman MBC today and was very impressed with the ease of turning the boost up and down and the way it held the boost. I do not have an aftermarket BOV but the boost did not taper at all. She just kept pulling at 21psi. Defiantly recommend this one if you haven’t gotten one yet. My friend has a Perrin MBC and says it works great but it’s a pain in the butt to adjust boost. I mounted it on the battery tie down, I think it looks good and doesn’t stick out too much.

I'm really glad that I got the pro ex. In dash is so much easier.

yours tuned for 21psi? I'm set at 20psi and I kept wanting up the boost. lol

That's the downside of having a inside control.

I wanted to get the in dash one, but I thought I would probably leave the boost alone 99% of the time, and the few times I would turn it up I would have time to adjust it. I was trying to save a couple of bucks...

I got it from my gf, but it's really worth having it inside. Pain in the *** to install though, since I can't install it on that same location.

I leave it alone, but I could always turn it up to 21.5psi on demand just in case I encounter a lambo or ferrari who wants to play.

The hallman is hands down the best boost controller I have ever used. I have never had a boost controller that has held boost as well as the hallman (holds 21psi like a champ and falls to 20.5 at redline)

The Greddy profec spec-II didn't do that, my old Blitz SSBC didn't do that, and my HKS EVC didn't do that nor did my Turbo XS. I got so sick of spending tons of cash on EBCs and they never really worked "that" well. When all you have to do is spend $80 on a hallman and be on your way.

FYI - if you ever get the chance to buy an adjustable wastegate actuator jump on it. It was great on my SR'd 240sx. Why fight the actuator with a boost controller when you can get one that is adjustable? It held 14psi like a champ on a very inefficient t2small

mine's under the airbox too. can't see it unless you take it off. but i do have the in-cockpit controller so you can see it if you look inside my car. it's a little hidden on the lower left next to the ash tray.

I've got a brand new Hallman... however, mine spikes to 21 and tapers to 19. I was a little disappointed as it was not as "dead on" as I had been lead to believe.

I can buy a Hallman mbc for 80 Dollars.
plug it in set it at 21ps. on a otherwise stock plus k&n typhoon intake 04 RS
And drive away.
or
do i have to get the car tuned for the air/fuel mixture. since it will be running a couple more psi peak and more over all.

No tuning is required.

You're going to need a boost gauge if you don't have one to set the MBC.
