The car is in for that right now, they were unable to get it to grind.
They were real helpful with some other issues I had, so I'm going just start a list, documenting what days, and times, and conditions it's grinding. Who knows, maybe I'll find something I haven't noticed
I let a friend drive my Evo today, who's been driving manual far longer than I have. It ground upon first try, going into 2nd at high rpm. The thing is, the dealership near me are *******s about looking over stuff like this. They use tactics such as, "you must leave your car here," "we have about 5hrs of backup work to do now," "do you realize you're driving a rally car?" Yea, they really told me all of those on different occasions for a simple alignment check.
My friend and I bought amsoil 80w90 sythetic GL4 friendly.....I will report of some observations since I am currently using synchromesh

slush fund thanks for the restrictor link
, does the mr have the same restrictor? If so I'll be removing my soon. And is there really any difference between bg/penzoil? how about redline/ royal purple?

well changed my tranny and diffs tonight for the 3rd or 4th time, diff plugs looked excellent, and well my tranny still is showing non good signs of metal on the drain plug. no big chunks, just really fine peices. Any thoughts?

Important Synchromesh question:
Are you guys using the normal GM, Pennzoil or Quaker State Synchromesh or the GM, AC Delco "Friction Modified" Synchromesh? They are different part #s and I think the friction modified version is only available from GM. I have not been able to find out exactly what friction modified means but lots of the Honda guys prefer the FM version.
