Question I have access to a Dyno, but its 2wd, how is the conversion done?

The shop i work at will be getting a "Dyno Dynamics" Dyno & it looks like im going to be operating it, which means i am certian to get a bit of "personal time" on the dyno to fine tune my AEM EMS

the problem is, the dyno is only a 2wd. im aware there is a way to convert the car so it can be run as a FWD. but i dont know what is involved. if anyone familiar with this procedure could chime in & explain how its done, it would be greatly appriciated

It requires welding a front diff, removing the ring gear from it, and installing it into your tcase. NOT an easy job.

I know on the VW R32 it was done by pullling slightly on the E-brake, maybe it's the same with the EVO?

Ouch! I always thought you just dropped the driveshaft or something.

I heard about that thing with the e-brake, not sure if it works with the EVO. I thought you could always just drop the drive-shaft and you'd be good but who knows.

This might be correct with cars with ACD's. With a ACD you pull on the e-brake and it disengages the rear end not to put strain on the viscous coupler as you are still on the throttle. Very nice feature for rally/road racing.

I think I read somewhere that the 05's are able to do this, not positive tho. I'll try to find out the thread I was reading...

If the GT-R center diff is a 50/50 diff and you pull the rear drive shaft wouldn't you only get 1/2 the whp? Why not pull the front and make a RWD EVO? That would be sweet to see an EVO doing a RWD burnout!!!! I have 325 awhp if I was to pull the FWD off would I have a 167 RWHP car? I don't know how good of a burn out that would be.....

Please don't laught cuz I don't know if this actualy would work... just thinking out loud.

Talk to Buschur racing.
They convert their evo's to fwd for dyno tuning all the time. I believe they just disconnect the drive shaft.

Not sure about the 05's with the active center diff. as it may be a bit different.

You can not just disconnect the drive shaft.
You need a VCE see my above post.

It doesn't work for the Evo though.
