Cams dyno charts inside

I was looking at AMS's site and came across a cam comparion on a older Eclipse. I know its not a EVO but its very close and the gains should be about the same. There are dynos of JUN, Web, Crower, HKS 264 & 272, and of course stock cams. Just go to the link and scroll down and you can see the dyno graphs. HKS makes some good cams from looking at these dynos!!!! Enjoy

It was helpful to me. I have done searches on CAM threads numerous times before, and this is the first time I've seen this one. I am still deciding on the CAM configuration I want to go with. It would seem that the 264/264 or 264/272 might be the way to go. Why would anyone want to get the 272/272 if it yielded less torque, slower spool up, and less power off boost? Possibly that the 272/272 might have more potential after further modifications?

Decisions decisions..

Notice no signs of engine management except an AFC. With some proper dyno/road tuning with an AEM EMS or something like it, you can expect alot more power out of the 272s.

I feel that the 272s will make more power than the 264s past 7k. The 264s will fall off a lot sooner past redline than the 272s will. I would think that the 272s would be ideal for someone running a T3/T4 or bigger turbo than stock with upgraded valvetrain and the ability to rev to 7500 plus. If you plan on keeping stock turbo then stick with the 264s. Just my $.02

I thought the 264/272 combo was a waste considering you get less horsepower and torque then going straight 264 or 272's?

Their are a TON of threads here on this. I have 272's and my car pulls HARD from 5k up past 7k. If you use cam gears and play with the gears you can make them work even better. My car pulls harder from 5k up with the gears set at -3 -3. It all depends on what you want a fun street car or an all out drag car.
