I'm coming to an idea about why would MMC make teh stock Evolution clutches weak, i.e. GRV's clutch bad after 2000miles? Did MMC feel they didn't want a harsh engagement to the transmission? Did MMC make a weak tranny, and wanted the clutch to have some weakness so instead of the tranny to go, it would be the clutch to take all force?
It's just a concern to me becuase, what will happen if I put a Twin Plate clutch instead of the stock clutch......would this be hurting my Tranny? Would I be able to break something since the TwinPlate is soooo harsh... or all in all the stock Evolution's(Evo7 for this matter) trannies capable of taking the TwinPlates, w/ out worries?

 

Well actually the EVO trans are much beefier than they use to be. There where a lot of people upgrading to EVO trans for there T/E/L/G here in the US. From what I am told, the EVO 6,7 trans have double cone syncros and can handle a lot a power before they start to break, around 500hp. So, I dought you will break anything.

I am very harsh on a clutch, but this should not have happened that soon. I am still trying to get a twin plate clutch from someone overseas, since no one in the US makes anything for it.......yet.
