intake without tune=less power?

intake without tune=less power?

Can someone explain to me why you would lose more power if you were to install a intake with stock maf without a tune? Has this been proven on the dyno?

Yes you will lose power. I think mostly low end torque.

yeah it wont be a huge amount but until you get a tune you will see a loss in torque

Mine felt like it had less HP after the intake install but it can be fixed with an AFC I or II or a tune. I think the maf senses increased aiflow so the ECU adjusts by adding and you get less hp. A tune, piggyback, or standalone will allow you to set the a/f ratio and make more power.

check out the dynoflash forums, they have a dyno proving you do lose power
