IC Piping Diameter

Hey, just wondering... are all of the aftermarket IC pipes 2.25in in diameter? I know Helix is (which I was planning on getting), also I believe Greddy is. I ask because isnt that too small? Just about every IC pipe for the 1G DSMs is 2.5inch. I know we the same TB so that couldnt be the reason. Any insight? Thanks!

Tom

I think most are 2.5" I know Helix is 2.25" because I was thinking the same thing when I noticed they were not 2.5" like all the rest. I don't think that .25" would matter that much, but I'm not sure.

****in Helix... I wanted to do full Helix exhaust, intake and IC piping, they had to screw it up!!!!

Funny thing is, the pictures definitely do not look 2.25. The lower does but not the upper.

I think Helix is a great product. One that does not go for full bling or go for full performance. In other words a little bit of both. I would say that is a good route to go. I'm still getting the Helix pipes soon. The only reason I want the HKS RS intake is because it has been proven to be the best intake in my eyes.

I actually bought the Helix intake for the blue accents to match my car. Yeah I know I am a dork. Anyway I am waiting on Helix to release their Titanium exhaust. I love the Helix SS exhaust - price/looks/sound/performance, however, its heavy as ****. Helix titanium would be the best of everything, plus Im sure it will be considerably less than the Greddy Ti, which is mucho dinero, plus doesnt even extend far enough so you have to get a bumper guard! All that for 850 bux? F that!!!

Gruppe-S said a month or so for the Helix Ti! I cannot wait!

As for the IC piping, maybe I will still go with the Helix. After all, the minimal volume difference will increase pressure for quicker response!

I had no clue Helix was releasing a ti cat back. That is cool. I may look into selling my HKS for it. I want the Greddy, but I would never pay that price for the simple fact that it doesn't extend to or past the bumper. I know Helix is working on a fmic and a turbo upgrade for the evo.

I want the blue theme going on in my engine bay as well. Have you bought a front strut bar?

Not yet! However, I checked out the Cusco Triangle strut bar, but only because it had the blue ends! Or, if I win the lottery maybe Ill consider the ARC titanium which is a laughable $765.
