Well if you drive as bad as you type then I'd say your car is in big trouble. Take the time to write a coherent post and I'll take the time to write an informative response.

learn to type some what correctly. now to have a little bit of oil in the piping if ok. and if there is very minimal shaft play you are fine. i had same concern with our first 03 gsr we mod'ed. we thought that the turbo was dead and spitting **** (oil) so we did proper diagnosics on it and the damn turbo unchecked (wastegate unhooked) we were making a **** storm of boost (in the low 30's) so the turbo was fine. the oil is just blow-by. the best way to see if your turbo is going out is to have a boost gauge and visually see how much boost you make, and if you have the intake tubing off wiggle you way down into the engine compartment or if you have one, a small mirror, and look at the fins as well as the wall of the turbo for signs of abnormal wear.

Talking

for everyone else benifit, i have revised this guys post into what i believe he is tring to ask us.

"hi. everyone who looks at this, i have a question, if anyone can help me out. i have an 03 evo 8 and its has 16k miles on it and the turbo, i think, is wasted. *(not blown, because all turbos blow)* now i went to put on a *fmic*(ask him what that stands for) and i noticed there was oil in the intercooler and piping. so i removed the intake and looked at the turbo, there was oil there also, the turbo also had a little bit of shaft play. my concern is; is this normal or is there any advice that can be given? (given to do what?) that would be great. ok, and for your info the car is sissy a$$ stock. thanks for all your extremely valuable time that everyone spends on evolutionm.net helping others."

hope that helps everyone out.

Why dont people just help instead of insult the guy? From what it sounds like he is already having a bad day and was probably typing in a hurry or something. Way to make him feel bad on his first post.

Honestly i do not know to much about your problem, but I do know without a catch can you will have oil in your IC pipes i wouldnt be to worried about that.

As far as shaft play maybe someone with a little more knowlodge in turbos can help you out on that, but im guessing it can't be good.

Because I find it disrespectful to write like that. His post should be clear and concise where people are trying to solve the problem, not decypher what he wrote. If he won't respect this board and the members by writing somewhat correctly then I won't give him my respect.

That makes sense, I see where your coming from, and you asked him to change his original post which hopfully he will make it a litte more detailed and fix a few grammer issues.

I think there is no reason to continue to flame the guy, so he cant type. At least he is smart wehn it comes to puchasing a car.
