Couldn't you just sum up all that in one post instead of 4 in a rapid fire succession?

I didn't break in cam shafts, My Shop, TurboTrixx just poped them in, and then ran them on a Dyno. If anything would go wrong, I figure it would show immediately.

This might be a dumb question so bear with me...even thou cams move the powerband (for this question, lets say to 9K) Does this mean with some form of engine mangment it is safe to rev to that? The cams allow for power to be made all the way to 9K as opposed to the 7K where the power falls off with the stock cams?

If the car is tuned properly, The engine will pull the upper RPM band quite well.

The stock turbo becomes the restriction to making power above 7000rpms, doesnt matter what cams are in there. Tunning will not make a stock turbo somehow make power up top.

Please!! We need someone that has dyno specs to compare with stock turbo vs 264/272, 272/272 then the 280 set up. It would be interesting to see exaclty where the drop off begins.

There really is no difference. There is a comparo with a DSM and cams and 15PSI. The 164's worked teh best with the stock turbo, which was a Small16G and had stock spoolup.

IMHO get 272-272 if you plan to upgrade, 264/264 if you plan to stay with a stock turbo.

280's I owuld immagine a turbo running 65 Pounds a min or more would help.

I think that buschur was the first shop to put them in, and found that they picked up 13 hp more throughout the power band than the 272's all around. Hopefully i can find a dyno sheet somewhere before i dyno my car.

Thanks,
Taylor

Hmm. I thought that those cams are good starting at 6000 and up. They are race cams right! I was going to get a set, but i was advised that its for cars reving past 8500rpm. Please correct me if I am wrong. I currently have the 264/272 combo. By next month I want to slap a turbo on, hence all 272 or 280's Please let me know.

You guys can find the dyno results we did on these cams in our Dyno thread here in the Engine/turbo/drivetrain section.
