just to let everyone know that diaqueen factory fill stuff is synthetic based gl-4 gear lube and cost about 90 bucks for 5 liter can from the dealer, but i used bg syncromesh as a cheaper synthetic based alternative that is gl-4 spec. never use gl5 as this has additives that will corrode the brass synchronizers...

The Pennzoil actually feels smoother than what I remember my BG feeling like.

None of the autozones by me carry it or so it seems. I'm going to call the autozone distributor out here and find where the closest local carrier is.

I had to go to four AutoZones to fill two cars... they don't seem to be in a hurry to restock.

Your autozone has a smart manager. What car/truck tranny takes 1 quart of fluid? I swear I feel like slapping the crap out of them each time I have to refill.

Is youre stuff "synchromesh" or is it one of their other ones like gearplus or synthetic? Pennzoil website says synchromesh is NOT GL-4 OR GL-5.

is there a change?

Don't forget that you can get the GM Syncroshift (same as Pennzoil Syncromesh) at most your Mitsubishi dealers. It was a dealer/manufacturer "fix" for DSM "notchy shifting" trannies. Granted, there is less and less as DSMs have been out of circulation for a while, but one of my dealers still stocked it.

However, check AutoZone first as the Pennzoil Syncromesh is half the price...

syncromesh blew my tranny...had a slight grind into 3rd...put in syncromesh, and it went away....i babied the **** outta the tranny and 3k miles later, the car started poppin outta second gear when id release the clutch....syncromesh doesnt fix anything, it covers up problems and doesnt sufficiently protect the gears/syncros...

If you had problems to begin with, then you had problems. It might "mask" some problems, but imho a problem is going to get worse with or without it.

I HIGHLY doubt it actually made it worse.
