Ya i just dropped those in last night so the tune is all the same as what the Tomei were set for. I will be tunning the AEM tonight to see what i can get out of them. Running Findanza Cam Gears but right now they are set to 0/0.

The balance shaft removal was good in letting the engine rev better but now im experiencing high oil pressure. So im actually looking into a couple different ways to solve that problem. One just flipping the bearing back around but then you might starve the engine for oil in spots that has low oil pressure or just swapping the bearings around and putting the shaft back into place without hooking it back up which i think would work fine but there is also another method that you drill out a oil gullie bigger then it is and it solves it. Old DSM trick

Nice info chris, you are going to have to a take me for another ride when you get everything tuned.

Chris gave me a ride in his car with his previous set-up, my reaction was like when you first get the evo, another ear-to-ear grin for awhile.

Nice ride Chris.

Well its pretty damn high. I see around 120-140psi at WOT. The problem im having is the pressure is so high that its blowing into my cylinders causing me to lose power for one and for 2 blow out a nice trail behind me. I did a compression test and everything is fine its just the piston ring clearance on the ross pistons is very very wide (basically you see this on race engine to allow the pistons to expand when they heat but they chatter when they are cold)

Anyway soon as my new gasket kit comes in i will be taking it back apart and see what i can do to solve this problem.

Cams make a huge difference nomatter what. I dont think that the HKS 280's is the right decision for a stock turbo setup though IMO. I think you would be better of with the HKS 264/264 or HKS 272/272 or the Tomei 260 Procams or a mix of the HKS cams 264/272. I jsut believe that 280 deg of duration is way to much for a stock turbo setup. I think it will hurt you in the long run. But i do agree that cams is one of the best mods you can do for your car. The EVO really wakes up in the top end department with them.

Chris

Oh ya there are allot of other cams out there now that i have not experimented with. All the specs are about the same though on all the cams for the evo. The one set that i have heard good things about are the Revolver cams but i have not seen any dyno's of them. I have heard a video with them and they sound very lopey for the duration they are. But i believe the guy did not have any engine management to work that out. Another is the Piper cams and the new Tomei cams look very very good. But agian they are made for a full race setup with upgraded turbo. If you look at lift wise the Piper cams come in 1st with 12mm of lift which is just crazy!!!. The Tomei cams are known in Japan as the king of all cams when it comes to EVO's and they know what they are talking about and they come in 11.5mm of lift. Anyway so much information if anybody wants to know more im more then willing to help out with what i can.
