I hate to say it, because I was in the same place as you once, but you're going to have to spend about ten hours on this site (reading posts, listening/watching clips, etc.) before you'll have a good answer. Asking a question like "which X is the best" on a forum site as big as EVOM is kind of like walking into the US Senate and saying "which of you is the best politician?" -- Everyone likes what they have and (almost) no one has actual objective data on one being better than another.

Most people only buy one exhaust, and it's basic human nature to think that the one you bought is the best. You wouldn't have bought it, otherwise.

However, there are *some* out there who do have real data. The tuners, the shops, etc. But of course, they're going to push *their* line so they can make their dough.

The only rock solid advice I can give you is to take individual posters' remarks with a grain of salt, remember that shop-owners have their own agenda (but they *do* have to adhere to truth-in-advertising law!), and that NUMBERS ARE KING!!!

However, if you want to trust me (I may be a total stranger, but I am, of course, absolutely correct in every way, as far as I know)...

I finally went with Buscher a few days ago for my TBE (haven't gotten it yet) because of the (few-and-far-between) actual numbers (hp gain) that I could find on this site. Everyone seems to love his parts, and he seems to really know his s*** when he speaks up around here.

Best,
Dutch

Yeah... what do you mean best?

-Biggest hp gains?
-Power without too much noise?
-most stock appearing?
-shiniest?
-straightest?
-cheapest?

at first i was going to get the buschurs turbo back but after doing some research and hearing some sounds clips i went for the AMS. Bushur's manufacturing sucks a$$, they use clamps to keep the pipes in place unlike the AMS thet uses hangers, and flanges to make it fit just like stock. I have it and it cleared the lower tie bars, and no rattles. Amazing man i'd really really recommend it. Great power gains too. They have been around just like buschur, yet if u want to get under the car to align your exhaust then get the buschur. I also recommend the perrin system. Well hope this helps..

HAH.

this question can only be answered yourself. couldn't have said it better than dutch, cept i wouldn't have said buschur, its too loud and not very purty. but, it just depends what you want. if you want best power numbers, and don't care about anything else, buschur is for you.

you should-oughtta be more specific when asking "whats the best?" what would make the best wife/husband??? what do you want? all power and dont care for how loud it is? do you want as quiet as possible? do you want a giant silver can hanging off your evo's A$$? let us know what "the best" is to you, and you''l get our oppinions. only oppinions. (unless those oppinions come with dyno sheets.... then im wrong.

Anything other than stock Evo exhaust is the Best Turbo-back exhaust.

Go with the one on sale. A 3 inch pipe is a 3 inch pipe.

Buschur changed his system and has since gotten rid of the problems with the original slip-fits. Just keeping you up to date. Good luck with your decision.

Yeah they switched to flanged fitment with all original fitment hangers. It took 30 minutes to unistall the stock and put on the new, great fit great sound and yeah its loud but I can't argue with the numbers!

I found the 3 inch system From RMR is the best. Its basic, Quiet (street legal), and well made. Plus I found is super cheap at 3N1Motorsports.com I think the downpipe was like $250 and the exhaust was $475.00 including shipping. It cost about the same as smaller companies but with better quality... Its a manufacture that at leased has been in business for a long time and will continue to be around if there are any problems. Thats just my 2 cents...

One more thing the RMR exhaust has mufflers that are made for them just for the evo. I thought that was pretty cool cause most companies use universal mufflers that sound like crap.
