need clutch setup help

Welp i have 25k and i can drive w/o slippage. So with my mods below i need some advice. I have between 300-350 hp and plan of more mods. my shop recomended getting a 4 puck which i dont know much about clutchs but that shoulds a lil aggresive. It is my daily driver and i plan on running it at the track a bit. I dont want to spend 2k on the twin disc fansy stuff. Im not going to do the flywheel for money purposes. Should i get the braided clutch line? There only like 25 bucks from what i saw. Anyways Ive searched and found act to be the best. Can some1 recommend a setup like what clutch sounds good for me and braided line or not nes. Thanks for the help.

4 puck on a daily driver...
Make sure your fillings are tight because your about to get some chadder. Ha.
Think of this, all of the clamping force is spread over four points vs. a whole disk (smoother engagement).

get the braided clutch line - one of the best mods you can do

Also get the ACT HDSS clutch - given your mods, it's a great bang for the buck - a 4 puck with an unsprung hub has no place in a street car

Obviously the shop you went to doesn't know much about clutches either!

Seriously though: I don't know what you told the shop either. IMO, definitely don't get the 4 puck. I would probably recommend our street setup unless you are making a lot of power. The trick to making a street setup work right on an EVO is to get enough clamp load and the proper friction material and drive it right. It doesn't matter if it is on the street or on the track. Don't let the clutch slip long enough to get hot and a street clutch will take quite a beating.

If you got a puck disc at all I would recommend a 6 puck, not 4 puck. A 6 puck is smoother than a 4 and has more surface area to absorb the heat. Same setup as Jeff Hill from TurboTrix. I can only think of a couple rare conditions that I might ever recommend a 4 puck on an EVO.

Given my position, I don't know if I can give an unbiased opinion, but I think you would be happy with our street setup. It is rated at well over the power you are shooting for.

I don't know if the braided line is going to do much for you or not. On the other hand removing the retrictor will change the feel a lot if you haven't removed it already, and give you more control. Be careful how you use it. Without the restrictor you have the power to dump the clutch and have it hook whenever you want to. You know the saying: Power corrupt, and absolute power corrupts, absolutely.

keep the restrictor and get the clutch line...the street disk setup is more than enough clutch for 400 hp

I went with the street clutch and braided line thanks for the help guys. Now im taking it to the dealer to install it. Do i need the flywheel resurfaced? The shop i was going to take it to said it needed done. And what is the restrictor do i tell them to take it out or leave it? To make it simple what should i tell them to do when i drop my car off with my clutch and line?
