I got one recently and the idle sucked when it was cold out. When I went to adjust it it didn't really help.. I have it running at about a quarter turn out of rich for the idle adjustment.. (that about a quarter turn from right to left) After about 100 miles the ECU will learn how to use the EIDS and that should solve the problem. That's what happened to me at least.... (Ran like crap then bout 100 miles later it started to run better and now it is great on everything except when the car is cold)

I say go with the HKS ss w/out the EIS. There are several of us that run the HKS ss and found that the EIS is not needed...

It's true that you don't completely need the EIDS.... BUT if it is cold out, like under 35º F the car could drop as low as 500 rpm on the idle and about half the time the car can't catch back up and it will stall.... In my experience it stalls after reving over 3k and then putting in the clutch, like when you make a left turn at a light.... and believe me it is really hard to keep the car turning when it isn't running. I am a total fan of the EIDS even if you have no mods just because it helps the car in the cold

zampolit... you dont have the "type K" version? that is the version reccomended for our cars, and on it the idle adjustment is all gunked over so you cannot adjust it. only the duration knob. so you really think that if I just let it be for about 100 miles it will get better? I mean it seems bad, I tried it again today and even thou it idled bad i tried to take a ride to at least see if it helped stalling when I vented alot of air... it did help that, but it seemed unsure and wanted to stay around 1500rpm when I let off and let it go to idle... hmm any info anyone has will help... ps what power source did you use for it? I used the "12v switched source" shown on the ecu pin diagram. That's okay right?

yeah that source it fine for it..... I'm not sure which model I have I got it from lancershop.com the screw closest to the cord is the idle speed adjuster and the junked over one is the idle duration one.... from my experience it is gunked over with too much duration turned into it... I pealed off the gunk and adjusted it till it worked better. but yes it took me about 100 miles to get use to it then about another 100 to totally start working well. also you might want to try reseting your ECU by unpluging the battery for 2 minutes and that should help.

I just finish installing the EIDS yesterday and when i turn on my car it wanted to stall and i needed to rev. for 2 min so the car could warm up. Afterwards, it in normal driving it helps a little, (the go and stop problem is fix) but when I floor it and the PSi goes higher it slow down at about 4000rpm, Does anyone have this problem?

I wired the white to the pin 90 that is going to the ECU, and the Yellow where the other half goes.
