Hey all, we had an opportunity to visit TurboTrix last weekend and dyno one of the 280 cammed Evos. The 280's had no detrimental effect on the powerband, in fact they provided for nice, strong pulls.

i was thinking about getting 272's, but if the 280's run good i might get those. Is the idle about the same as the 272's? And what is the gain on the 280's compared to the 272's? Do u lose any tq? Or does it just have same tq and more top end then the 272's?

We originally set the cams for -3; however max power peaked at 0. So, from that, we discovered that Cam gears were not all that necessary, concluding that the 280s would have worked okay with stock gears.
There were no stalling or idling problems - ever.
Unfortunately no concrete #'s on the 272 vs 280. However, I believe that Buschur has dynoed them @ 30 or so wheel HP.
The main point we wanted to establish is that 280's work just fine.

it is my understanding that the 280's yield the most power ONLY with a large turbo since the stock turbo runs out of steam when even adding the 264's. correct me if i'm wrong...
