600+whp, Road Racer ?

Hi fellas,

Curious about this and what would be needed to achieve this. To put together a 600+whp engine and retain the reliability of using it for regular trips to the road race track, occasional trips to the drag strip, and retain daily drivability ?

I know tuning has a lot to due with it. As far as modifications though, what would be the recommendations ? Thanks!

It's impossible to make that power with 2.4L without a peaky powerband. You'd probably be faster on a road course if you tuned for more area under the curve and less top end power. If you really want that kind of straight line power and a broad powerband, probably better off to go with a V8 platform like a Z06 Corvette.

That's why I put up the question Wanted to see how do-able and reliable it would/could be. Looks like I'll be looking for other paths to take! Thanks!

^^ it's hard work...
but remember that a car making that much power will lose reliability somewhere along the line.
if you're not breaking parts....you are'nt making power.....
hehheh

you might want to pm my friend "3240" he was putting 597 to his wheels and his is very reliable. look up his posts to see most of his mods, some aren't listed.he has put alot of money into to get that whp and have it be reliable. like the other guy said, you might want to go with a v8 though and might not have to spend as much to have a reliable car with that much hp. such as the new cobras, they are getting close to that with not too much money.

suspension and about 400 to the tires is all you will need for the Race track anything over that becomes to unreliable in 30+ minute sesions. oh yeah and also to expensive filling the car up with C16 for a laping day.
