you'd have to swap the cylinder head, cams, cam gears and that kinda stuff.... and maybe get the ecu tuned for it... but yeah... it's most likely possible.

the mivec uses a completely redesigned head and block, atleast with the 2.4l it is. and im assuming that the 2.0 will be different also. i dont believe just swapping the head and ecu will work, i think you will need to get a compete engine

Think about it. They aren't going to completely redesign the 2.0 block. Hmmm lets see we're in tremendous financial trouble so lets go redesign a classic bullet proof motor just for fun....doubt it. If I had to guess I would say that the mivec swap will be something that is doable. Obviously this would entail at least the new head and a ecu to control it.

A head swap will be doable, but at a very high cost (almost as much as a new engine). You're better off getting 272 or 280 cams and gears.

Consider the comparison with the Honda B16 head + B20 Block. It's practically building a new engine.

well... that depends on what you consider the price of an engine... it's around 3000 dollars to get a built head... so that's about the price of an engine (bottomend)... so... that's to be expected yeah? if you're gonna do head work... it's gonna have to be done at a cost...

there will be mivec heads available when people wreck their 9s it's just bound to happen.

it's already been discussed at great length the idea of the 4g63 being remade and ****... but it says in the documents that it's still a 4g63 iron block and all. so... let that rest please. if they were to make a new engine it'd be called something different, like a 4g69, they already have one of those with mivec... the 4g63 will not change.

Not worth it. Just take the money you'd spend on the IX head and build up the evo 8. Chances are, everyone will probably want the X in a few years so not really worth it to buy the IX if you already own an 8. If money is no option, then go ahead and play with the parts swap.

not to mention that it's always nice to let the flaws work themselves out.

but on the other hand... no one else has this combo

i'm sure it's modded evo8 non mivec engine. in order for the mivec to work, the cams gotta be different as well as the second source of intake air source from turbo, as the cam profile changes at the mivec kick in point...

i'm sure you could do it, but you could mine as well spend the money on an upgrade for your car and go faster with more control.

why mivec and stroker kit? you'll kill the purpose of the mivec with a stroker kit.

Forget swapping the engine, seems more trouble than its worth since you can do alot with a evo 8 engine. I would love to get my hands on a front and rear bumper though.
