Angry Throw-out Bearing issues

For all of you who are having that rattling noise, this is for you.

My Throw-out bearing started rattling around 5-6K miles, and is getting worse, so I contacted my dealer, and tried to set up an appointment. Well they tell me that caused by normal where, that the rattling noise is there because of the way the clutch engages/disengages and that it also is a normal wear item. So I contacted Mitsu Corp relations, and they sent my Mitsu dealer a request to “look a little closer.” My dealer was supposed to call me back but never did. I called Mitsu Customer relations back today and was told that my Mitsu dealer called the Mitsubishi Tech line and they even said that it was normal. So the Factory Rep for the west region is coming into town and the person at the Mitsu Relations is going to set up an appointment I’m going to talk to him about getting it replaced.

I have to raise the BS flag on this one! I had my TO bearing replaced at about 7k under warranty! See a different dealer. the only part that is not covered is just the clutch disk it's self. $109 for the stock one.

Kind of a strange question but what month did they replace your TOB?? I ask because I'm wondering if its around the same time they just stopped doing any warrenty work on the drivetrain or clutch.

I think he's referring to the clutch disk, not the bearing.

someone else mentioned that many cars have this issue, and he referred to it as neutral gear rattle. anyway my car has the issue and i went to my local dealer and the EVO tech said that they hear that also in eclipses. he also said that if it gets worse come in, but if not, don't worry about.

Are you sure it's the throw out bearing?
My car still makes noise after all kinds of different setups (with new throw out bearings). I'm assuming you guys are talking about that deceleration rattle noise.

The rattle almost sounds like its an intake manifold leak??? ITs hard to discribe, but when you hear it you'll know.

Mine sounded like something is SPINNING and rattling
very hard to explain. Its like its SPINNING and RATTLING and making a little KNOCK but not from the engine . THe noise can be heard very clear if u put your head very close to the front driver side tire.
