Misfire diagnosis (plugs or coils?)
heres a stupid spark plug gap question. I'm gonna install some new plugs today and I have been doing a lot of research on the proper gap to set these plugs at. It seems like .024 - .026 should be good, but I've seen several people say ".26" instead of ".026"..... so whats the deal, thats confusing me. Seems like most people are saying .026 and not .26.... so which is it? HELP!!
Just wanted people to know that I solved my misfire problem weeks ago. I had improperly loaded an Xede map and it caused my ECU to go into "limp mode," (for lack of a better term). I reloaded my Xede map and reset my ECU and my problems were solved.
Also, I tried magnacor wires and my car misfired. When I checked my wires, they felt completely loose. I put my stock wires back on and the misfire was solved. So, I think the Magnacor's have to very carfully fitted over the plugs to ensure a tight fit.

.26 would be over a quarter of an inch.
My car is still running great too, and my cams arrived today.

Update.
I am now also getting P0300 code using EITHER stock OR Magecore 8.5mm plug wires. And ONLY DURING IDLE. Wierd!
I don't think it is related to the wires anymore. I have tried these wires on Denso and NGK Iridium (stock heat range) and NGK coppers 7 and 8 (protruded) heat range plugs.
I have a few more things to try. Will report later.
But my car only throw the CEL and trip the P0300 code. Performance-wise it doesn't change a thing wether I have the CEL or not. No timing pulled. No jerky. Makes 400HP/400ftlb to the wheels. 28-30 PSI spike and let it fall. 93 octane and 100 Methanol. Max knock voltage at 2.4-2.5V. Pulls like a rape ape all the way to 7800 RPM.
Obviously I don't have the same problems like some of you do. I just have to live with the $#%^ CEL that pop up every so often.

I have a similar problem. WOT only tho.. starts to break up at around 5500 rpm and is fine after that. 75% throttle does it less but still does it. Also when it does it the boost fluxuates between 23-18 (im guessing just because its missing). I have bpr8es gapped at .022 (because i run 30psi w/methanol). Any ideas what to check?>
