Just like the title says....has anyone heard about this? It would be a testament to TRE's building capability and reputation (very strong at this point).

Team Rip Engineering (www.teamrip.com), they're primarily drivetrain builders in Kalamazoo, MI which would be interesting if this were true. I spoke with Jon at length on the phone recently and he hadn't mentioned it, not that I asked.

Of course they are strong. Rebuild? C&D is doing stock spec runnoffs so all those major mods come off. Cant wait to get my TRE 5MT in

Yes we are working with the gentleman at Car & Driver who has acquired the EVO-MR that was used in the 25 Hours of Thunderhill. I drove over to his workshop to pick the transmission up a couple weeks ago. Real nice fella.

All I can say it that I wish that we could have gotten involved with this project sooner. The transmission certainly would not of had any of that grinding gears BS and it wouldn't have been all torn up from being raced @ Thuderhill that's for sure.

Just discovered that Jon is on this board.

Lemme just put a big-*** plug in for Jon and TRE.

Jon has been building and rebuilding my transmissions in the Far North Racing Eagle Talon for as long as I've been breaking them The transmission that won the 2002 SCCA ProSolo Street Modified Championship was a TRE transmission. The transmission that won the 2004 Canadian D Modified National Championship was a TRE transmission. And this year... well, the results for this year are still TBD, but it's still a TRE transmission.

Jon does amazing work, he has met every deadline I've ever asked of him, and he has gone truly above and beyond the call of duty for me over and over and over again.

VERY strongly recommended.
