Those with Helix IC piping

I just put an ACT clutch in this weekend, and the helix piping kit to go along. Couldnt get any of the t-bolts to work except one at the throttle body. My question is, those of you who put it on, did you notice any difference? If anything I think my car feels weaker. Seems like boost doesnt come on as strong or something. Everyone ive seen alwas says lower IC piping and stuff made a difference. If anything mine feels more sissyfied and I cant be having that.

well i cant tell that i have a boost leak, all clamps are tight on there As I made sure for all of em. Boost seems to be the same as before too, just not as peppy when boost hits.

I'll let you know how my Helix pipes feel when I put them on today.

I was monkeying with my stock IC pipes a few weeks ago and afterward it felt like my car was slower. I thought maybe I had a boost leak but I checked boost and it was the same as before. Maybe it is just in our heads?

nah its definatly not in my head, and I honestly do not think redoing a clutch is gonna slow me down.

I hope you let the clutch break in some, b/c if not then of course its going to feel slower, the clutch is slipping.

a brand new clutch is not gonna slip. I would know what a slipping clutch would be.

Ive heard of stuff like this happening, where the volume of the I/C piping and intercooler piping is larger than stock, therefore necessitating more cfm to fill the void and build boost. It makes sense. I bought an XS-Engineering I/C and Helix piping and I'll let you know if it does in fact require some richening up, bigger injectors and a fuel pump to compensate as well as a higher setting on the MBC knob (predicted results).

i have asked tuners about this, and the answer was no. There is something else going on...peak boost is still seen. I probably really need to do a leak test on it.

actually if you don't follow some sort of breakin procedure some clutches will slip. they have not been heat cycled and gotten the "glaze" off of them yet. Ive experienced this before when I tried to get a lil too happy too soon with my ls/turbo civic and a clutchmasters stage 3.

nah man, i broke the clutch in for right at 300 miles.. A slipping clutch would be pretty noticeable as my rpm's would rise before it caught.

ok, its broken in that rules out the clutch. my evo clutch is slightly slipping on top end, you can't really see it in the rpm's but you can feel it in the car, just feels as though its not pulling as hard as it does at times. Very wierd feeling.

Anyway...I forget but does the helix kit have an intake? If so did you run the stock airbox before and are now running an intake?

Helix IC pipe kit is the pipes only.
