Stock MAF flow

Anyone know how much power is possible to flow through the stock Evo MAF? I know the second gens seem to be extremely close to Evo's and they flow around the 480-500 mark... is this true with the Evo as well? Also, on a 500-550 HP car how much will be lost to the restriction of the MAF? Lastly, has anyone hacked the MAF yet.. I am putting a T61 in the car and am afraid the stock MAF is going to hold it back tremendously. I guess if no one knows Ill let everyone know shortly... if it seems to be holding it back I will most likely try to hack the maf and see what happens... if it fails I can always buy an EMS

As per at least one demonstration, the MAF apparently flows and meters well enough to allow well over 500whp. I'm not sure what you mean by 'hacking' it, but if you're going to do something physical to it (?), I'd advise having enough resources on hand to be prepared to go to a standalone on short notice.

Only thing I can think to "hack" on the MAF is the screw on the bottom by backing it out a little like on the 2G , Unlike the 1g witch you could "hack" up more . I have backed my screw out on my evo's MAF and didnt see/feel a differance , so i put it back to its stock setting ...

I mean by actually removing some of the internals of the maf.. will cause it to overrun but is still tunable after doing so.... so yes, physically modifying the maf itself. I am fully prepared to go to an EMS if absolutely needed but I would like to keep the stock ECU. I am hoping for a 10.99 on the stock ECU (Reflashed).

Like I said, save your money for a standalone before you ruin it!

Well on a few other forums I have now read that the Evo Maf flows right around 25-30% more airflow than the 2G maf which can flow right around 480-500 to the wheels. This will put my near 600 to the ground which would achieve a 10.99 I guess i shouldn't need to hack it anyways.
