Test Pipe Noise

Hey I have a UR 2.5" test pipe on my EVO and it's loud as hell. No cat back exhaust just a BR muffler delete and an Apexi downpipe.

Most of the noise came from the Test Pipe, and was wondering if I wrapped it in heat wrapping, would it cut down on the noise? Any opinions on what i could do to quiet things down?

so wait... you don't have an exhaust canister in the back? just stops at the cat delete? and you're worried about it sounding too loud?

I love how loud mine is. I don't think wrapping it up will help any, but I could be wrong.

Sorry, wrote it up incorrectly.

No muffler in the back. I have a Buschur Racing muffler delete attached to the stock mid-pipe which has 2 resonators.
The muffler delete didnt really add any noise only under WOT would you know that it was there.

The cat delete though added A LOT of noise...I mean you can hear me coming from a block away. So I was wondering if anyone here has wrapped it or done something to quiet down the extra noise?

ic... sorry... i got confused for a bit... wrapping it wouldn't really help at all... adding another resonator to lets say... the muffler delete pipe... that'll help a bit... there's really nothing else to do... maybe roll up the windows and blas the stereo...

i mean... come on... of course it's going to sound loud.. you basically don't have an exhaust system... you've gotta big *** pipe from the turbo back... lol

I had a feeling that it wouldnt help, but wanted other opinions. Yea it is just one long pipe, but I was hoping that because it only got very loud w/ the cat delete maybe wrapping it would help.

Thanks

Should be loud as hell. You don't really have anything in line to trap the sound. The cat would do that and so would the mufler. With both of those out with straight pipe youu cr should be loud.

No, wrapping the outside of the pipe wont make any difference. The sound waves can pass right thru you exhaust you need something to restrict the flow or reshape the note to quiet it down. The resonators will only knock out the sound in a couple frequencies not all the noise.

Run a cat day to day and swap out test pipe when you want to run.

Or get a muffler to quiet things down. You can also replace your cat-delete pipe w/ a resonated test pipe.
