I need a new clutch, suggestions?

I'm in the market for a new clutch now, i need a few suggestions. My car is still stock and my clutch just burnt at 13k miles but anyway, price isnt the issue, I need something sturdy. Any suggestions or knowledge about the clutches on the market would be great also maybe a place you suggest to buy from. Thank you

Im not expert but it seems the 2 main options are:
A)ACT Kit (around $550)
B)EXEDY twin disc

The ACT is obvoiusly cheaper, however, it doesnt come with a flywheel and uses a single disc when the Exedy uses twin, which keeps pedal pressure more near stock where as the ACT has a significant gain in harder pedal pressure.

You said money isnt an option though, I hear RPS makes a carbon/carbon clutch for just under $3k

I will be getting an Exedy or Cusco sometime in the near future. Cusco is made by Exedy and has some slight differences, mainly in the disc, I believe. Anyway, good luck!

Both myself and Matt Gold from Exedy (User ID = MattGold) frequent this forum and are welcome to questions.

There is a noticable difference in the pedal pressure with the ACT but it is but no big deal...just ask my 5'4" 130 lb. 53 yr old wife. It is a very nice replacement clutch and will handle just about anything the stock turbo can deliver. You can use it with the stock f/w but I went to the Fidanza since it has a replacable friction surface.

Hey man I already read up on this, ( i started the thread ACTman posted)

ACT Street is the best bet, too many complaints on other disks. Plus the ACT is so little money that your not even wasting any if you only use it for 6 months. (If you dont like it)

Thumbs up

EXEDY. I read/heard ACT is hard on the drivetrain. I have had exedy since my stock one bit the dust, cant be happier. Had EXEDY twin metallic, the EXEDY TRIPLE carbon. the triple grabs, is smoother that the twin!!!!!!!!!!

Based on the design I don't know how our clutches would be that hard on the drivetrain but you can find just about anything in print. So are you recommending the triple carbon for a stock car?

i LOVE my ACT. I can barely tell a difference in the pedal pressure from the stock pedal pressure, and the engagement is smooth as butter.
