HELP!! My CEL Light went on.....

car threw two codes
DTC P0335: Crankshaft Position Sensor Circuit
DTC P0340: Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit
both sensors seem to be fine...i just recently put on a bov greddy type-s it is re-circulated but the evo's dont take to mods well at all...i've heard it could be due to taking my car through the car wash that a little water could cause this...also it might be due to the combination of intake, full exhaust, and bov -tuning...there are no boost leaks or vaccume leaks...also when i push the clutch in while rolling my idle drops below 800rpm and bounces then stabelizes sometimes it dies...i've heard it's very common with bov's and evos...any ideas??

Evo's take very well to mods.

An intake with a bov could be the source of your stalling out.

Are you tuned at all for your mods or are you runing around on the factory specs?

i guess i should have made myself more clear i kinda 1/2 assed the thread.
-tuning
means i have NO form of tuning!! I just go the car not too long ago.

when i said evo's dont take mods too well...they dont, not without tuning of some sort.

also, more info i should have included....we cleared the cel light and it hasn't thrown it since...and that was a few days ago now

OH YEAH AND....I'm not so much worried about the dying out, i've heard from many that is normal, just more so concerned about the cel codes!

Thanks

Mine's done it twice, and you know what answer I've gotten from a local high quality tuning shop (they're joined with COBB), if the car feels like it's running fine then it's fine, with the stalling, it's probably your intake/bov without a tune, with the codes, what gas are you using? And he said -tuning... oh, and after the last time, it hasn't done it again, i just had to turn down the boost a little bit, it was pulling timing on the bad Utah gas

i dont know why your throwing codes, but the idle is definantly because of the type-s, most people do the single spring mod if you havent ( search for it), or try re-adjusting it.

Just wanted to make sure it wasn't something I should be concerned about, the car feels like it's running fine, and the whole stalling problem only started when i put the bov on, so i pretty much wasn't worried about that.

haha and my -tuning was a little vague it's just me being lazy!

I got it one week... cleared it and turned boost down... took it out to the track... filled with race gas... turned up the boost... got it (the codes) at the track... cleared... turned boost down a little bit... and the whole day and a half rest of track racing never came back... then I turned down the boost a little bit more when I went back to crappy 91 and: the 400 mile drive home, and the thousand miles since it hasn't come back on
And it was dynoed the other day, at said shop, and we looked at the graph, and the guy said it's running very near perfect for what mods I have

so the real question, is what gas are you using and what boost are you running at? I'm not saying that's the problem for sure, but turning the boost down a bit fixed my problem... and I'm still doing 272 to the wheels on a Mustang with my mods, so I didn't have to lose much power to the turn down

I've pulled those exact same two codes before, both at the same time. The codes came on after re-filling my intercooler sprayer reservoir with cold water and spilling some water on the wires.

Also, I have a GReddy Type-S recirculated w/ the 1 spring mod and adjusted the screw accordingly. I had a crushed 1g DSM bov before this. the 1g caused me to stall every once in awhile... and caused the idle to dip low and back up a lot... now with the type-s, my car has never stalled yet and the idle very rarely dips low.

i wonder if the intake and full turboback (including o2) have given you a boost spike, do you have a boost gauge? On 93 with 19-21 pounds of boost you should probably be just fine, cuz I'm at 91 with 20 pounds and it hasn't come back... maybe it's just a coincidence that turning down the boost a bit on mine fixed the problem

ct9s idea is good too... I wonder if it could just be water messing it up... both times mine came on it was raining REALLY hard

I do have a slight boost spike but im not sure exactly what it spikes to. I have the evo mr gagues that came in my car...i would assume them to be accurate...i run 1.4bars which i believe is 20psi..
