Assuming dynojet (since the other put down almost 300 with tbe/bs/tune), Your numbers also look somewhat low for your baseline. 230 hp is a stock evo number. You should have been somewhere in the area of 250-260 base with your origional mods.

Youl should get another 5-10 if you ditch the cat....but if you want to keep your car legal dont.

Did yo dyno your car bone stock? Sounds to me like you might have a bad flash...as others have mentioned.

240 whp and 280 torque!!!!!!!! That is THE coolest car ever... how'd you do it?
seriously... that's crazy... that's almost as much torque as your other Evo pal and 54 less whp... whatever "problem" you have, is just robbing you of hp and not tq, which is REALLY weird

I was hopeing for 270-280 whp......NOT EVEN CLOSE

whp with the TBE was 240 and 280 torque with a A/F of 12 @3000 and below 10 between 5000 and 6500 ending up 10.5 @ 7000. i had then datalog my car for one more run to see if anything is wrong but they said the timing was fine.

so my question is: is there anything else that could be wrong besides the flash?

there was one other Evo there today, we have about the same mods.....he has a buscher TBE (no cat), stock airbox, HBC @ 1.4, and a AFC II. he put down 294whp with 285 torque.....

i was alittle upset so i went out and got a AFC II to fix my A/F.......but before i install the AFC i want to know if anything else is wrong.

thanks

Did your friend run on the same dyno under the same conditions?

Dyno numbers are general guidelines and can be manipulated by several outside conditions and also user error.

In all fairness, your numbers are kinda low for a TBE, but I did see similar (although higher) gains with the same mods.
temp was about the same but humidity was alot higher. i have dynoed on the same Dynojet every time and the other Evo ran right before me.

my stock dyno was 220 whp with 252 torque.......after i put the Injen intake on with the the flash i got 229whp and 250 torque with a A/F of 13 @ 3000 going down to 10.5 @ 5700 then back up to 11.5 @ 7000....

after i put the MBC(1.4 bar) on with the flash and the Injen i dynoed at 231whp with 258torque with a A/F of 13 @ 3000 going down to 11@ 6000 then back up to 12 @7000

is there anything that could be wrong with my car other then a bad flash??????

Intake leaks maybe or spark plugs possibly. Have you pulled your plugs? Try gapping them a little tighter to to .025.

Flash's always have more torque than SAFC or piggyback systems, I don't know why although this is what I have read on here. I don't see it so unusual that you meet your friends car with the SAFC on the torque side of things. Although I would expect your whp to be up to at least 270 so consult the person that you got the flash from and see if the flash he gave you was correct. I don't know why you would have jumped to conclusions and purchased a SAFC when a flash can do the same job just minus all the adjustability, which for some is a headache anyways.

I'm no tuning expert but by the looks of it your A/F isn't very good. Definitately fix the A/F ratios.

You sheets look good - there is no detonation and its very smooth =- the two runs are identical which is a good sign. Your a/f dips alightly low in the middle but that would only be a small loss in power.

Power level is very low - I have some ideas on why

First thing I would test your boost gauge and see hoa accurate it is against a known referece

Next - tyy running a little more boost on the car - it has more room its rich and not knocking so you might find another bunch of power just running it on higher boost

Finally - what kind of boost controller do you have and how much bost does it drop from spool up to red line ?

Thanks
