WARNING: Weapon-R Engine Damper

Well, I purchased the thing from www.prostreetonline.com and I have had it on for about 5 months now. The issue I would like to warn everyone about is its build quality. Though Weapon-R has always been a questionable company I bought it because it didn't seem anyone had any trouble with them so far. Well anyways as I was working on the car today I accidentally tapped the thing with my hand and noticed it wobbled. I take a closer look and notice the friggin metal brace that is bolted to the engine mount is cracked right after the second bolt towards the front of the car. So be forewarned that there is a possibility of this thing breaking clean off and if you have no cam cover like I did it can make a real mess of your cam gears + timing belt (not to say anything of the head). I have not yet contacted prostreet as it was just found today.

I put it on and took it off within a week. Not only did it transmit 2x more noise into the cabin, but now instead of the engine torqing on both sides when revving, only one side does. That can't be good for the running gear..............

It also cuts into your A/C hose if you don't tie it back.

That's why they supply the plastic twisty for your AC hose. A lot of people don't know what it is.

Actually never got one. So that explains that.

Did the instructions say to tie off the AC line?

What do you expect from them?

Crappy parts = crappy performance.

i saw an srt-4 on the dyno and its engine ROCKED back and forth, i think there may have been missing something....an engine mount perhaps...this was at Mach V motorsports' bbq by the way. but my point is the evo's engine really doesnt move that much in comparision. i'd say look into stiffer tranny mounts if possible. bmw guys do it all the time and it helps with shifting incredibly.

We have been recently informed of this issue and have already begun making changes to the engine bracket to further brace it from cracking. A new bracket will be manufactured with the updated bracing and all brackets in our kits will be changed for these. If you currently own one of our engine damper kit, we will be conducting an exchange on the bracket when the new one arrives. Please email me in regards to this, and I will compile a list of people who need a new bracket.

Thanks man, but I found a new use for it and it's holding up great. I tie my pit bull to it so he doen't go after the post man. The dog appreciates the dampening capability and his feet don't fly off the ground now.
