HKS cam shafts
HKS cam shafts
i recently read into the HKS cam shafts and hear that they give good mid-high end power and even low end. what camshafts would be best for a stock car? 264/264, 264/272, 272/272? i dont plan on modding my car that much because its probably going to see the track maybe once a year, i just need the extra power incase the stis in my area try to show me whats up. the only other mods i plan on getting are turbo back exhaust and apexi power intake with aluminum air box or the arc air box. btw, do i really need a flash/ecu if i get the cam shafts? i want to keep as little mods in my car and have it simple so the dealership doesnt get mad at me. what other mods should i get that wont void my warranty?
all the mods you plan to add will void your warrenty esp. the cams. If you want to keep your warranty then do a custom flash plus a k&N drop in. If I were getting cams I would get the 272's or even mix them. Do a search and you will find tons of info.

Huh? your message didn't make sense.
You just said his planned mods would void his warranty. How would adding more mods keep his warranty valid?

I agree. You fueling and ignition MAPs are calibrated with the stock cams. Changing cams will increase your VE, but your calibrations will not be optimal to take advantage of your VE gain.

From here on out, I am going to refuse to say "void warranty"....becasue the presence mods alone cannot void a warrany no matter what mitsu says. Eash case must be looked at individually.
That being said...I doubt mitsu will cover powertrain problems if you have cams. In fact, im almost positive they wont. And yes you need a reflash or piggyback.

He was planning on adding the turboback, intake, and cams
